What's new?
Dear customer
With the help of a team of interns and a lot of coffee we were working like fury during March. Taking on commissions to write articles and presentations, building new joint ventures and really getting to grips with our view of global travel and tourism. Below are a few highlights that I thought you might be interested in.

Making better use of public data – a new open source profiling tool
All too frequently consultancy appears to be predicated on re-selling freely available data with very little value-added. Over the last six months Trajectory has been working with the Local Futures Group, Professor Martin Callingham and the Demographics User Group to create and test a new profiling and targeting service profiling and targeting service based the ONS’s free Output Area Classification (OAC). Once you are trained on how to use the data, the team are then available (if you need them) to answer specific queries and of course take on any project work, there is no charge for the data, just for the value that we add. Want to know more? tell me what you are interested in – direct marketing, location planning, service design etc and I will put you in touch with the right person.
Take a look at some of the free maps and profiling on Maptube – a quick guide to the population make-up of your area or specific issues such as crime and carbon footprints. Just use the zoom function on the left hand side.
From London to Astana
Over the next seven months the Trajectory team are out and about speaking alongside the Marketing Society, IPA, the World Tourism Organisation and many others. Wherever possible we make the presentation materials and papers available for free – click here to take a look at the events and if there is something that catches your eye, let me know and I will see if I can send the presentation over.
Free - download: The presentation given to the Chartered Institute of Marketing is now available to download. ‘Consumer reaction to the recession’ reviews the causes (and trajectory!) of the recession in order to understand current behaviour and what the marketer must learn and consider within this environment.
